Nebraska shuts out Arizona, 33-0
The No. 20 Nebraska Cornhuskers rebounded from their heartbreaking Big 12 championship game loss with a 33-0 shutout of the No. 22 Arizona Wildcats in the Holiday Bowl.
Nebraska put double-digit scores on the board in each of the first three quarters to win going away. By halftime, the Cornhuskers had rolled out to a commanding 23-0 lead.
The Cornhuskers defense forced just one turnovers on the day, but barely allowed 100 total yards of offense for the Wildcats. It was a truly impressive performance.
The offense had breakout performances from a couple of running backs and several wide receivers, which certainly was unexpected against a pretty stingy Arizona defense.
The win will certainly give Nebraska some momentum heading into next season and a performance which they can build upon.
