Nebraska to get new downtown arena
The Nebraska Cornhuskers have received approval to a new, state-of-the-art downtown arena.
The proposal is just a part of a $344 million revitalization project for the Lincoln downtown area.
The 16,000 seat facility will be ready for play beginning with the 2013-2014 basketball season.
The Cornhuskers basketball program has lagged behind in the Big 12 because of the poor facilities.
The school hopes that the new arena will attact better players and allow them to improve with top-notch practice facilities.
